@yamini: in this question u r asked about purine i.e. Adenine & guanine and pyrimidines i.e. thymine cytosine &uracil..so u can see which of them contain four pyrimidine base
nice
could you please explain ques 14? i’m really confused!
in Q.14 AG is a purine and CT are pyrimidin. so in option A ders 2Ts n 2Cs.
good questions……
thanks.
Question 10
Which of the following is a genetic vector?
Answer is wrong- its All of these. Please refer wikipedia.
Smita, Thanks for the feedback.
Vector are agents such as a plasmid or a virus, which incorporate foreign DNA and transfer that DNA from one organism to another.
Plasmids are circular DNA molecule called vectors in genetic engineering, usually found in bacteria. It can replicate independent of the main chromosome, commonly used in genetics and biotechnology to express particular genes.
Phage vectors are evolved for cell targeted gene delivery and other properties suitable for gene therapy because of their genetic simplicity.
Cosmid is a large vector which is made from a bacteriophage and used to clone genes or gene fragments.
can anybody help me out with the first question
The transgenic animals are those which have
foreign DNA in ALL their cells
If its introduced nly in some of the cells dont U think that Original seq will think it as mutated or foreign n send those cells to Apoptosis. If we introduce foreign gene in all cells even though its foreign the cells’s funcrion wont be supressed. Think of homozygosity n heterozygosity for clear view of how genes work….. 😉
